Our idea of Sustainability
We are deeply aware of the impact that fashion has on the environment and society. That’s why we have developed a personal and transparent approach to sustainability. Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond merely complying with regulations; it stems from the honesty with which we uphold our values throughout every stage of the process. While acknowledging the complexity and challenges surrounding us, we make conscious choices to reduce our environmental footprint and drive meaningful change.
Environmental Sustainability
We honor the materials we use and the earth they come from by repurposing production scraps and adhering to the principles of a circular economy. Each piece is made to order, avoiding unnecessary waste and ensuring a balance between resources and demand.
Craftsmanship Sustainability
We only collaborate with companies that share our values, creating long-lasting, unique garments that stand apart from the fast-paced, excess-driven fashion industry.
Human Sustainability
We aim to redefine relationships within the fashion supply chain by fostering a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative work environment. It’s not enough to appear sustainable; we strive to practice it in the way we treat our workers. For us, this is the most challenging goal, and we hope to share our journey one day.
A conscious rhythm
Slowness is a deliberate and ethical choice that aligns with our mindfulness values. As part of the slow fashion movement, we adopt a Direct-to-Consumer and Made-to-Order model, creating garments that take shape with patience and care. Those who choose us embrace the value of time and waiting, rejecting the ‘immediate’ mindset.
We believe that the energy with which an object is created defines its essence.
Our choice of working with leather
Our decision to work with leather is rooted in the understanding that our accessories come into direct contact with human skin, which breathes and absorbs whatever touches it. We have carefully evaluated alternatives such as vegan and regenerated leathers, but these do not provide the same level of sustainability or safety for direct skin contact. Vegan leathers contain a minimal percentage of natural components, while regenerated leathers, though made from scraps, are not certified for safe long-term use on the skin.
We continue to research alternatives, but for now, we consider vegetable-tanned leather the safest and most authentic choice, respecting its ancient value.
Our production ecosystem
To bring our values to life, we have developed a production system based on holistic principles designed to minimize waste and optimize the entire process. In leatherworking, one of the main issues is waste, which arises from two key challenges:
- Scraps left between cutting patterns.
- The high cost of storing unused raw materials or unsold finished products. We have addressed this by combining several approaches, turning the limitations of one model into the strengths of another. Our process is built on four integrated strategies:
- Made to order
- Presale
- Archive
To minimize waste, we immediately repurpose leather remnants that have already been cut, using them to create increasingly smaller items, which then become part of our stock. This approach reduces waste to the bare minimum (between 1.5% and 3%). The smallest product we create from these remnants is the drawstring stopper, which we use in our clothing.
